21. Chloe Garner, World Long Drive Champion
Welcome to our first episode of Season 2 of The Wild Golf Podcast. I am your host Michael McDonald and our guest this week is Chloe Garner, the reigning world long drive champion. Chloe is a former collegiate golfer who stopped playing after college and started competing and coaching cross-fit. She stumbled onto Long Drive watching a profile on youtube of a male cross-fit athlete competing at Long Drive. That’s where the journey began; she then found the best Long Drive coach in Bobby Peterson who believed in Chloe from the start; to becoming the Long Drive Champion four years later; with all the sweat and tears in between. Chloe is small in stature for long drive, and competing against giants , won the world championship with a drive of 347 yards. In my experience, which you can see from Chloe’s instagram account, no one strength trains harder and in a more sophisticated way than Chloe; if she ever publishes a programme for mass consumption, sign up, because it will be the best out there from someone whose speed and accomplishments are off the charts. This is a story of resilience, mental strength, and the joy of rediscovering a love for the game while on the path to becoming the best in the world. I hope you enjoy this discussion with Chloe as much as I did.
